The first in a series of patterns inspired by Laila's Norwegian heritage - designed to create cozy comfort while honoring traditional motifs. The Karine Cowl is a simple colorwork pattern worked in the round with no decreases or increases.
YARN:
Fiber MacGyver Shaniko DK & Suri Silk DK
DK yarn in two colors (sample uses Suri Silk DK for CC):
[85, 125] yards for MC and
[50, 75] yards for CC
Samples were knit in the following colors:
Size 1
MC Champagne
CC Roasted Pecan
Size 2
MC Oscar
CC Pearl
NEEDLES / NOTIONS:
Size US 6, 16" circular needles
(or size needed to obtain gauge)
GAUGE:
21 sts and 22 rows = 4" in stranded colorwork, blocked
SIZE:
Two sizes [1, 2] to give more of a tighter buff type feel [1] or a roomier close-knit cowl [2].
Final measurements:
Size 1 - 8" tall, 18" circumference
Size 2 - 8" tall, 24" circumference
